<p><strong>Step 1</strong> &#8211; Exporting Project from Rhino</p>
<p>In order to import modeled geometry in Unity 3D, it must be exported as .obj file.  In OBJ  export window, there are certain options that must be checked. Two most important options are selection of exporting objects as meshes and mapping Rhino Z to OBJ Y. In this process I exported terrain and object as two separate files, so I could manipulate changes in Unity easily.</p>

<p><strong>Step 2</strong> &#8211; Importing Project to Unity 3D</p>
<p>After creating New Project with Character Controller in Unity, OBJ geometry from Rhino can be imported as New Asset. While still in Asset Folder, Generate Colliders should be assigned to terrain and any other geometry that should not allow user to go through. After this geometry can be dragged in Hierarchy along with First Person Controller, that must be positioned above the terrain.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Step 3</strong> &#8211; Adding Materials, Light and Background</p>
<p>New Material can be created in Unity with use of adequate shaders and bitmaps. In Inspector windows settings for materials are available, and new images for bitmaps can be loaded if previously added as a New Asset. Light component can be added to the scene as Game Object. Settings for Light that are in Inspector consider also Shadow Type.Background can be edited in Edit &#8211; Render Settings &#8211; SkyBox. As for everything else first Skybox needs to be added in Assets with Import Package.</p>

<p><strong>Step 4</strong> &#8211; Saving the Game</p>
<p>After saving the current scene, game can be saved in File &#8211; Build and Run. There is option for saving game for Web Player, so users from any platform can play the game.</p>

<p>I created a new project in Unity 3D.  I <strong><em>imported a new asset</em></strong>- the terrain OBJ. file from Rhino.  In order to not allow the player go through the terrain surface I selected the option<em><strong> Generate Colliders</strong></em>.</p>

<p>I created a <em><strong>directional light</strong></em>.  I gave it a light blue colour and I decreased its intensity to achieve the willed atmosphere. I set <em><strong>soft shadow</strong></em>s. and change the <em><strong>bias</strong></em> into 0.5 in order to have  better quality of the shadow contour.</p>
<p>I created a <b><i>first person controller</i></b> and changed his location to make him able to walk on the terrain.  In character controller I increased the <b><i>step offset </i></b>value to make the gamer able to step up a the stairs.</p>

<p>I imported other OBJ. files: staircase and one module of my project.  I assigned them <em><strong>new materials</strong></em>.  For the staircase and the terrain I used <em><strong>diffuse shader</strong></em>. For the project I downloaded <b><i>transparent shadow shader </i></b>which enable shading by transparent objects.</p>

<p>first step is to find the actual geolocation in google earth. in that particular case it is at torre baro in barcelona. after clearing the view (set north etc) simply save it as a jpg image. import the image with pictureframe command into rhino. scale the map correctly. set an earthanchorpoint on your pin and define the geolocation. open grasshopper and define the picture to a surface. divide it into a grid of points. use the ghowl plugin to connect the surfacepopints to geodata. connect it to a panel and stream the contents. delete the panel again and enable the geodatatool to disconnect from google. use vector z to move the points to their actual height. create a mesh from the points and bake it to use it in rhino. reset the earthanchorpoint on the acutal height surface and import the design model. apply materials and export it together with the anchorpoint as an .kmz file. open it in google earth and it will show the model on the actual site. i tried to import it first with the surfaces but the data failed to load because it was too big. therefore i just imported the structure.</p>
