Rambla de Prim: Cybrid Fringe

Rambla de Prim [ east fringe of Barcelona ] is the place where multitude of complicated spatio-social situations intersect,
from urban experiment of ideas of international modernism to the biggest imigrant communities in the city. How can
we turn this at  rst sight disadvantage to a powerfull tool which will bring near future development? A er analyzing the
socio-cultural and economic background of the area we propose develop an open program, free of restrictions and hierarchies,
centres or rhetorical  gures and create areas of opportunity, interaction, investigation, research and development
[ eDucattion + Di usion, R + 3D, culture and entertainment ].

Pere IV – Smart Street Hotel – Group 01

PEREIV
Pere IV is located in the heart of 22@ that intends to transform Poble Nou into the new area of social, urban and technological innovation. However, due to its historical condition as the old industrial zone of Barcelona, more than 32% of its area – buildings, lots and urban space –  is unoccupied. This situation not only reflects a sense of abandonment of the public space but transcends to the lack of activity over time. It presents a void in space, type and time.

Avinguda Paral·lel – Making History Repeat Itself

Since its birth, a series of contradictory urban design provisions facilitated the appearance of ephemeral buildings and the conversion of Paral·lel into a dense area for leisure and entertainment. Many new directions in entertainment, culture, and even politics originated on this street and quickly spread around Europe. It was a meeting point for intellectuals, entertainers, and people in search for a good time. Paral·lel was for everyone, and it catered for it. People had freedom in the street; they were able to move about comfortably and without obstruction. But as the city grew bigger and traffic substantially increased, the spirit of Paral·lel got run over by motorized traffic.
