Introductory Studio: Wind Energy Machines
The initial idea of the project was to bring the technology closer to people. Valldaura self-sufficient lab receives visitors mostly students and other guests from around the world therefore our attempt is to first influence them, who in turn would spread this message. The wind chime is a wind turbine integrated into a structure that can be used daily.
Apart from producing electricity from renewable energy for immediate use in the outdoor space, the Wind Canopy is a structure that is close to the people.
With the idea of having a vertical wind capturing structure to maximize wind capture from various directions in collaboration with a productive gear system that multiplies electricity production, we have been working on different material, form, and scale in order to create an efficient yet simple structure, so that it gives people an impression of a device that is achievable by making your own, and even putting it back in your own backyard.
