An important feature of the 3d print exercise it’s the capability of the machine to print objects within limitations of an external device, the property to print objects inside the same object was our main focus and created the idea that led us to developed a join with the propriety that it can be self expandable after printed and have a working moving system trough their printed parts.

In the developing of this idea the exercise was focus in the creation of many parts linked together so that it could be created as an infinite linear joint consisting in a multiple reach of forms. It wasn’t to create the same joint repeated one after another, it’s about to develop many joints together but with mutations that characterize each one before the separation starts to occur.
To have this series of individual mutating objects the parametric tool Grasshopper was needed in order to create this independence of objects, but with the constrains of the area to be printed.
