Self Tracking

Tracking oneself has become accessible to all through various devices and gadets. Self tracking can be used for various purposes. The objective was to track myself for a week with a help of any GPS tracking device, and to explore various ways of representing the data and making the data interesting.

Application used – GPS Tracking Lite. The app offers the recorded data in two formats – gpx and kml file along with graphs showing the speed and altitude recorded.

The kml file was used for the mapping of data through grasshopper.

In the resulting mapping of the data, we can see 2 main clusters. The clusters are resultants of the main areas – home, work, where most of the time is spent during the week and lot of points between these areas representing the commute between the two.
