CNC Milling Machine I Brick I Group-6

The exercise focuses on casting of bricks using a mould which has been fabricated with the help of a CNC Milling Machine. This exercise helps us to explore the ways in which this tool is helpful to create variations in the size/shape/texture of the brick.

Inspiration for this particular texture has been taken from Wood. The final aim of the exercise was to construct a three-dimensional wall in Iaac building using these textured bricks. This variation in textures can be felt with the sense of Touch and the wall gives us the opportunity to feel the same.

3D printing – Group 04

We decided to work with a voronoi mesh created in grasshopper, due to its high potential to generate organic structures which flexibility could easily adapt both to the shape of our tower previously defined on rhino and  to the general steel structure of the 5 meters tower.
