IAAC Masters visit the VENICE ARSENALE

IAAC Master students and Faculty visited the 25.000 sqm of the Arsenale international venue at the 13th Venice Biennale of architecture, under the Common Ground theme curated by David Chipperfield.
The Arsenale is the largest pre-industrial production centre of the world. Today is hosting one of the most important forum for the architectural thought.

IAAC students visited the different installations displayed there, such as the “Torre David” manifesto around informal settlements by Urban-ThinkTank, McGuirk and Iwan Ban awarded with the Golden Lion. Other works visited span from big firms, like the Herzog&deMeuron analysis of the social and political ramifications of their Hamburg Philarmonic project, or the Zaha Hadid research on formfinding and traditional vault construction techniques; to some other smaller independent researches comming from smaller firms like the Cypriot research on alternative turism opportunities.
