IAAC-UCV Summer School. Pre-Workshop in FAU-UCV, Caracas – Venezuela

Continuing the research agenda: Fab Labs and Informalism between the “Unidad 00″ at the Architecture and Urbanism School of the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and IAAC-Fab Lab Barcelona, this year a second version of the dedicated summer school is going to take place in Barcelona at IAAC Campus between 3rd and 31st of August. The topics for this year’s edition will be based on Informal Phenomena and Smart Cities.

2012 IAAC-UCV Workshop topics:

- S Scale: Moto-Taxi stops and 2 wheel mobility systems.

- XL Scale: Smart Cities, proposals for La Carlota Airport as a Productive Hub for Caracas.

A week-immersive workshop was ran in Caracas prior to the workshop in Barcelona. Tomas Diez and Luis Fraguada led sessions on different digital tools and concepts which will be the base for the activities in Barcelona. Luis Fraguada led sessions on Rhino and Grasshopper based on climate and terrain analysis, and then together with Tomas Diez introduced Arduino for the first time to FAU Students.

The closing session was based on the review and discussion of the projects developed along the intensive program at FAU-UCV, together with professors of the Unidad 00.
