First days of the research trip were focused on the academic and professional scene of New York City. At Columbia University RS2 Self-Sufficient Buildings Group visited the Philip’s Anzalome FabLab and David Benjamin’s Living Lab. A contradictory visit followed at the low-tech hand–craft fabrication workshops of the Cooper Union.
At the professional scene, the group visited Front Office at Dumbo, were a round table on skin construction technologies and it’s relation with global economies was set up together with Mark Simons. Group visit continued at Terreform office were Mitchell Joachim toured IAAC group through their hybrid biology-technology experimental labs.
