Everyday life at the Institute for advanced architecture of Catalonia
With a lot of things to prepare for the final presentation, students at IaaC had a short and fun break celebrating Marisa Margariti and Carlo Caltabiano’s birthdays.
The MAA students with Lucas Cappelli and Nota Tsekoura visited the Venice Architecture Biennale 2010, ¨People Meet in Architecture¨, directed by Kazuyo Sejima. It was the 12th International Architecture Exhibition and IAAC participated with the model of the Fablab House project, exhibited in the Spanish Pavilion at the Giardini.
The Master in Advanced Architecture students visited the exhibition Fabrication Laboratory at DHUB Barcelona. An exhibition designed by IAAC and curated by Marta Male-Alemany. During the inauguration of the Master in Advanced Architecture the board of Directors presented to the students the objectives of the master and the vision of the school as well as the projects developed throughout the 10 years of its history. This year IAAC welcomed 70 students from 30 countries and 4 continents.
Artur Mas, candidate for President of Catalonia and former “conseller en cap” visited today IaaC and had a tour to the facilities of the school. The Board of Directors of the Institute for Advanced Architecture demonstrated to him new technologies that have been absorbed by architecture and had an extended conversation about the vision of potential innovation [...]
