Inauguration of IAAC’s Open Thesis Fabrication

Open Thesis Fabrication 3.0  Inaugurated with the welcoming speech from the new IAAC Dean Manuel Gausa along with Areti Markopoulou, research and Development Director, that presented the program to the students.

IAAC through Open Thesis Fabrication (OTF) agenda is placing a new emphasis on translating the research into technologies that can address pressing social, environmental and economic needs by promoting and powering innovation. Success in innovation appears to entail working closely with industry, in both basic and applied research simultaneously. Thus, OTF program emerges as an intensive applied research platform that combines academy and industry seeking for the development of innovative solutions in a wide range of fields (architecture, design, construction, interaction, technology etc).

For the third edition of OTF Program in 2012, IAAC is setting up a wide variety of partnerships, including material, technology and design-oriented companies.

KUKA (Robotic Technologies Manufacturer)

LIBELIUM (Distributed Wi-Fi Communications)

CRICURSA (Complex Glass Manufacturer)

INDUSTRIAS IMAR (Metal Manufacturer)

DUPONT (Corian Manufacturer)
