Purposeful architecture ?

imageOnes own space- purposefully designed or existing. Sou Fujimoto text talks about how spaces are perceived. Functional spaces, whether they are created or discovered and how these spaces are used. Humans have their own way of adapting and taking advantage of little things, using them for his own comfort. As he gets used to the spaces he will discover various ways of using and manipulating them. He talks about caves and nests. The spaces in a cave are discovered rather than specifically made for an individual.
The question here is whether a non purposeful kind of architecture can be made functional.

In his text, ‘transparency coexists with opacity’ he talks about how places coexisting are comfortable for a person and it works for others who are connected to the individual or the space around.
The spaces which interconnect among themselves . The mystery of spaces created with different possibilities of interrelations, As things come into contact with each other. The chances multiply of how objects are connected / detached.
How a vague idea formed can be perfectly clear sometimes.

‘Locale’
A place of different possibilities for a person to find by himself. The freedom of perception. The freedom to do something, brings out the change to simplify a complexity or break down a complex things into simple bits.

Ruins are rejects by people, to move forward. These can be a new beginning for some. How are these ruins connected to the city. Where does the connection originates and how it expands. How ruins are used as caves.

We need to consider the flow of the growth. How naturally people tend to change and so do the spaces around them, whether intentionally or accidentally. But these changes should come naturally and not be forced by over designing, respecting people’s individual choices.

Possible topic of interest.

How squatters come into existence. Their origin and how people discover spaces for their use, Even if these places which are discarded by some or newly formed. The connections linked together to make one whole. How even in a chaotic condition it functions. How the city and people are supported together.
